I was born in Trondheim, Norway, went to medical school in Edinburgh, Scotland and came to the US in 1966. I have worked as a hematopathologist at the University of Utah since 1971. As a pathologist I have spent over 40 years looking at cells through the microscope and doing microphotography. My visual preference has now expanded in many other realms.

I am happily married and have two daughters, who are also doctors in medicine. My hobbies include biking, hiking, skiing and photography.
